as if girl scout cookies weren’t bad enough on their own, there is now edy’s samoas girl scout cookies ice cream!

other flavors not seen at my local kroger but seen on the edy’s website include:

slow churned rich and creamy thin mint cookie ice cream, and peanut butter tagalongs ice cream!!

if your valentine hates you because you bought them a box of drugstore chocolates, you should consider taking a trip to the ikea foodmart.

nothing says “i love you” quite as literally as an i love you torte from ikea:

you may also consider a box of swedish choklad praliner! (chocolates!)

ladies and gentlemen, you will be happy to know that i finally made it to the kosher market!

tadaaa!

inside of this glorious building lived many amazing and delicious kosher grocery items.

there were bags of frozen falafel,

boxes of frozen potato knishes,

freezers full of broiled chicken livers,

pretzels shaped like trucks,

bags of little challahs,

kashrus alerts,

and many other kosher groceries waiting to be eaten!

last weekend i took a short-lived trip to canada. here are things about canada that you will be happy to know:

canadians buy milk in a bag (but also in cartons..which more people appeared to be buying, despite the fact that there was three times as much bagged milk.)

canadian mcflurries are better than american mcflurries (especially the kit kat variety). other varieties at mcdonald’s in windsor included rolo and smarties.

canadians eat poutine, even at burger king

the candy at the checkout (known to the canadians at the real canadian superstore as a “till”) is totally different and way better than any snickers and crunch bar mumbo jumbo you might find here in the states. no one seems to be as fascinated by this amazing foreign checkout-candy phenomenon as me, but i will always find it to be amazing.

canadians have these, and you don’t. (but i do because i bought a bag of each)

also it appears as if candians bag their own groceries, and push around funny looking shopping carts (which i sadly do not have a photo of.)

in conclusion: canada rules.

so today i had planned to go to the one stop kosher market in southfield. i called to make sure they were open BUT of course i stupidly did not realize that saturday is sabbath for jewish people. also i cannot get a seat at the local middle eastern restaurant after dark because it is ramadan and all the muslims are fasting til sunset.

i do not know what i’m going to do now :(((
